Charlotte Bobcats center Primoz Brezec will miss the team's season-opening game on Wednesday, November 1, against Indiana at Charlotte Bobcats Arena and approximately two weeks while he recuperates from exhaustion and dehydration.

"We feel that rest is the best overall care for Primoz. We realize the season is 82 games and five months long," Team Physician Dr. Joe Garcia said. "With this period of rest, Primoz should be back to 100 percent strength for the remainder of the season."

Brezec missed a portion of the team's opening week of training camp in Wilmington due to dehydration.

He played in five of the team's eight preseason games and averaged 3.6 points and 4.2 rebounds in 13.0 minutes.

Following the conclusion of the 2005-06 NBA season, Brezec participated with the Slovenian National Team in his native country's summer-long preparation for the World Championships and the competition itself in late August and early September.

Brezec appeared in 79 games for Charlotte in 2005-06 and ranked 14th in the NBA by shooting .517 from the field. He ranked third on the team with 5.6 rebounds and fourth with 12.4 points.

With Brezec sidelined, Bobcats General Manager & Head Coach Bernie Bickerstaff said following Wednesday's shootaround that he would "probably" put Sean May in the starting backcourt alongside Emeka Okafor against the Pacers.
