Jewel's fifth Atlantic album, entitled "0304," which finds the multi-platinum singer/songwriter moving in new musical directions inspired by her burgeoning interest in modern dance beats and textures, is out now.
Jewel chatted during Game 2. Here's what she had to say ...
William: Hello. Who do you think will win the NBA Finals and why?
JEWEL: I'm probably the most unqualified person to answer that question, but I'll say the Nets.
al (las vegas): Jewel, who is your favorite NBA player?
JEWEL: I like Jason Kidd. Just watching him move is amazing. I don't know he does what he does.
Harrison: What kind of music do you usually listen to?
JEWEL: I like the Cure. I like the Chili Peppers. Sarah Vaughn. Nina Simone. Springsteen. Van Halen.
Steve (Sydney): Do you think you'll be on the cover of Rolling Stone to promote this album? I'd love that!
JEWEL: I'd love that too.
Bill (Patton, Pa.): Hi Jewel! Any idea of what the second single will be from 0304? You continue to amaze me with every new album. 0304 is excellent.
JEWEL: I'm not sure what the second single will be. I hope it's the song Stand. What do you think it should be?
Tammy (Baltimore): Have you done any videos for the new album?
JEWEL: Just the one for Intuition.
Terry (St. Louis): Jewel, what would you be doing if you weren't a professional singer?
JEWEL: An unprofessional singer. (And writer.)
DC (IL): What's up Jewel. How did you get the opportunity to perform at halftime? Who contacted you?
JEWEL: Their people called my people.
JEWEL: Thanks a lot for writing in! I'm going to go watch the rest of the game now.
