Tom Chambers, the
first unrestricted free agent in NBA history, signed with Phoenix
on July 5, 1988 and helped transform the Suns into instant title
contenders. During his five seasons in the Valley, he set franchise
records for both points in a game (60) and scoring average (27.2
ppg), and helped lead the Suns to three Western Conference Finals
appearances and one NBA Finals stop. TC also represented Phoenix
during three All-Star Games. Today, Chambers represents the
franchise through the Suns' community relations efforts, and his
name was added to the team's Ring of Honor in 1999.
